Opportunity Realisation

We will work with you to create a roadmap of the technical and commercial work required to fully evaluate an opportunity, and to establish a corresponding decision framework. We can provide project management support and technical oversight in execution of this phase. We are confident that we can help you to increase the value of your asset during the maturation phase of a field development.

Field Development Planning

We provide a fully integrated approach which recognizes the commercial, marketing, subsurface and surface engineering constraints and opportunities – bounded by your drivers and constraints. We work in close co-operation with your team to create a realistic and practical work plan to complement your internal business processes.

Due Diligence

We offer due diligence reviews to support acquisitions and divestments of acreage or equity stakes in capital projects covering aspects such as assessment of fair market value, independent assessment of reserves, CAPEX, OPEX, DRILLEX, ABEX estimates, economic analysis and risk assessment.

Gas Master Planning

We provide strategic planning services for gas development projects at a local and national level. Our specialists have many years of experience in this field and routinely advise the World Bank, governments and international oil companies in many areas on gas infrastructure development.

      We provided a fair market value assessment for an equity stake in the Shell Prelude Project in the Browse Basin, Western Australia.
      We provided CAPEX, OPEX, DRILLEX and ABEX estimates, developed a post-tax economic model, conducted sensitivity analyses, and used a risk-based approach to identify value at risk. With our partner SGS Horizon we provided an independent assessment of reserves. We verified the project schedule.

    • NAM: MEG regeneration troubleshooting in Dutch North Sea

      We provided operations support to a gas treatment facility where the liquids handling and MEG regeneration systems were experiencing scale formation and produced water breakthrough.
      We made recommendations to review the production pipelines liquids handling philosophy and to modify the slug catcher level control algorithms. We provided further process design support for specific modifications.

    • KNOC Rong Doi Moi

      We undertook a feasibility study to review development options for the Rong Doi Moi gas condensate field 320km offshore Vietnam. We were asked to consider direct drilling from the existing wellhead platform versus subsea tie-back, and we estimated CAPEX, OPEX and ABEX for each option. Working with our partner Add Energy we explored the drilling issues (major fault in the reservoir, extended reach drilling) and made risk-based recommendations.

    • Maersk Oil: project management support

      We are undertaking the review and development of contract documentation for brownfield development support contracts. We started by working with the various stakeholder teams to identify key focus points for the design workscope, using lessons learnt from previous projects and incorporating these into the scopes of work, key performance indicators and project controls. We are currently defining bid threshold acceptance criteria and evaluation criteria.

      We undertook a high level cost estimate and economics assessment for an oil reservoir in the ultra-deep water Block SL-04A-10 offshore Sierra Leone, with water depths between 3000-4000m. We produced CAPEX, OPEX, DRILLEX and ABEX estimates and used these to model the economics over field life, applying Sierra Leone’s fiscal regime.

      We reviewed all technical building blocks from reservoir to product export; considering design, fabrication and installation aspects, to build a broad and integrated understanding of the technical and commercial issues & risks associated with a deep water environment. We reported on current operating technical limits and pending advances, and identified critical issues. We also assessed the feasibility and value of early production systems.
