Alliancing – a solution for the low oil price environment?
UA’s Senior Advisor Prabhat Garga shared his experiences of alliancing in a presentation at the FPSO Europe Congress in February 16.
Some very successful offshore oil and gas developments were created in early 1990s in the UK North Sea using the alliance form of contracting, in the aftermath of the last major sustained downturn in oil prices (BP Andrew, Conoco/Chevron Britannia).
In his presentation Prabhat discussed why the alliancing model has not been pursued since, despite these early successes. Do similar conditions exist today for successful ‘alliance’ based delivery of projects?
